TELL ME ABOUT ROSLYN DONOHUE ORIGINAL ARTWORK?
All my original artworks are created using high quality acrylic paints (I usually use GOLDEN, but have dabbled with others)
I tend to use the same palette across a collection and love using a hairdryer to make the whole process faster (I am impatient and time poor - this was the best tip I was ever given - I also have a baby, so if you're a parent I'm sure you understand - even if you're not a parent, I know you understand).
While I've created some larger scale pieces I have actually found that I much prefer working with mini canvases, everything mini is cute!
I love florals and abstract styles and tend to experiment a lot on paper initially before I move onto a canvas.
HOW IS ROSLYN DONOHUE DIGITAL ART CREATED?
Each of my pieces are created digitally, which is a little different from the traditional sense of artworks.
Every single piece of my digital art is made using my Wacom tablet and pencil. I love layering and will usually create piece-by-piece by sketching and filling, I will often have up to 30 or more layers in each artwork, carefully constructed to give a particular feel.
Each print can vary in length of time of creation, starting at a week to even longer!
WHAT IS GICLEE PRINTING?
Giclée, pronounced '"zhee-KLAY"', is printing, more commonly known as Fine Art Printing or Archival Printing are specialised printing techniques using high quality archival inks onto archival paper or canvas.
These unique inks create an everlasting, museum quality print that will last.
When handling your print please be careful, as moisture and oils from your skin can affect the print quality - If you're purchasing a larger print it's recommended that you take it straight to your framer in the packaging.
To keep your print from fading, discolouring or blurring I recommend using a glass frame and placing your print out of direct sunlight.
PLEASE EXPLAIN OPEN EDITION AND LIMITED EDITION PRINTS?
Open Edition Prints are pieces of art which can be recreated over and over again - there is no limit to how many times they may be printed! These prints are more affordable and are prepared at a faster rate via my printing company.
All open edition are digitally signed.
Limited Edition Prints are only sold for a short amount of time - usually until they are sold out and are specially signed by me.
