INKS? PAPER? HELP!
WHY IS GICLEE PRINTING MORE EXPENSIVE?
To keep it simple, Giclée printing is better quality printing on better quality paper.
Giclée printing is a specialised type of printing using high quality archival inks on museum grade paper (e.g. cotton rag), the images on the screen do no justify how beautiful a piece of art looks when printed using these high quality archival inks.
BUT WHAT ABOUT INKJET PRINTING ON SMOOTH MATTE?
Artwork printed using inkjet on high quality paper is still attractive to look at but when compared the quality isn't as fine. I offer this option to those who still would like to purchase a print but want it to be cost effective.
All inkjet printing is on 192gsm is completed by me in my workspace.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?
Here's a little graphic to help you visualise what size artwork you may need for your space, because who has time to google when you need to shop!
HOW LONG BEFORE MY ARTWORK ARRIVES?
Each print is made to order, so that may take a 3-10 business days as a majority of prints are sent to be printed using Giclée printing methods from a third party, these are the artworks printed on 310gsm archival matte paper.
Artwork printed on 192gsm paper is typically printed by me using my inkjet printer and will be printed and shipped within 1-3 business days.
Shipping time depends on where you live.
Australian residents should receive their artworks within 2 weeks - *COVID dependant.
International shipping is dependent on your own country's guidelines.
Tracking information is sent with ALL artworks.
Note: International tax fees may apply dependent on your country's policies.
The packaging your artwork comes in is dependent on the size. Smaller artwork will be sent flat with a backing board while larger items will be rolled in a tube.
Please be careful when handling your print as moisture from your fingers can damage your print.
Rolled prints need to be unrolled with care, as the paper can be creased in the process. Make sure you do not touch the printed area, use the sides. Rolled prints may also need to be flatted before framing.
If you are getting a paper print I recommend taking your print in it's packaging to your framer to handle to avoid any mishaps.
When choosing an area to hang your print avoid direct sunlight. Sunlight can damage your print by causing fading, blurring and/or discolouration.
